Next Generation Scholarship Program

In 2025, the NGAC developed the Next Generation Scholarship Program. The initiative was designed to support individuals at the very beginning of their automotive technician career path. Eligible applicants include high school students planning to enter the skilled trades, trade or technical school students currently enrolled in automotive programs, and early-career technicians within their first year in the industry. The first set of scholarships was granted at the 2026 VAA Annual Convention.

Through scholarships of $2,500 or the award of a technical toolbox, this program is intended to directly support training, education, and career advancement. Beyond financial support, recipients are paired with VAA mentors, provide regular progress updates, participate in NGAC activities, and join us here at the Annual Convention—ensuring they are fully connected to the community they are entering.

Applications for the 2027 Scholarship Program will open in the winter of 2026.
